“If the idea of all this scares the shit out of you, don’t worry, it scares Ray a bit too as he admits. On the other hand, the book seeks to fight that fear with understanding. After all, AI isn’t the one that’s trying to replace our jobs, other human beings are doing that by using AI before the technology and our society is ready. Our species lust for greed is still the enemy. AI might be our inspiration to appeal to the better angels of our nature because if it’s truly smarter than us, hopefully it will also be better than us. That’s my hope at least.
